Detailed guide →Norwegian Dawn is a Norwegian Cruise Line ship built in 2002. Official figures list 92,250 gross tonnage, a length of 294 m, capacity for 2,290 guests at double occupancy and refurbishment in 2024. Every date in this itinerary involves a port: plan onboard relaxation between visits rather than expecting a separate sea day.
Main options are Inside, Oceanview, Balcony, Club Balcony Suite and Suites. An Inside room is practical for active sightseeing; an Oceanview adds daylight and a Balcony provides private outdoor space. Not every window or balcony has an unobstructed view. Check the actual number, deck, proximity to lifts and busy venues. A guarantee category may mean the line allocates the room later.
NCL lists Aqua and Venetian as main dining rooms, Garden Café as the buffet and O’Sheehan’s as a casual dining option. Choose a quick breakfast before going ashore or a relaxed dinner after returning. Check the daily programme for opening times. Drinks, special orders and room service should not automatically be assumed included in this offer.
Specialty venues include Cagney’s Steakhouse, La Cucina, Le Bistro, Moderno, Los Lobos and Teppanyaki. Treat these separately from main dining: check charges, reservations and any package conditions. No More At Sea package is promised here. Choose a dinner time that does not conflict with returning from Ibiza or a delayed port visit.
Onboard facilities list a main pool, hot tubs, Pulse fitness centre, walking/jogging track and sports court. After a walking day, choose deck relaxation instead of another excursion. Check opening times, restrictions and individual classes onboard. Loungers and quiet spaces depend on availability; no particular poolside position is promised by this offer.
Check the daily programme for shows, music and activities; specific titles and performers are not confirmed for July 2027. NCL describes Splash Academy for ages 3–12 and Entourage for 13–17. Confirm access, registration and hours onboard. Guppies for the youngest children is a parent-accompanied play space, not a promise of drop-off childcare.
Mandara Spa offers treatments and NCL lists Starlink internet on Norwegian Dawn. Neither means free internet or included spa visits. Before purchasing, check cost, scope and restrictions. Download tickets, maps and guides offline. At sea, avoid unintentionally connecting to a charged maritime mobile network; check settings and tariffs with your operator.
Verify names and travel documents for every destination, including Gibraltar, with official authorities for your nationality. Complete NCL online check-in by its deadline and follow your assigned arrival time. Save boarding documents and luggage tags. Keep medication, valuables and first-hours essentials in hand luggage. Once onboard, check safety instructions, ship time and each port’s all-aboard deadline.

Transport from the terminal, 12 attractions, a one-day itinerary and practical advice for each stop.

Lisbon is the embarkation city, rather than a normal port call. Alfama, the squares beside the Tagus and the hilltop viewpoints deserve a separate day before boarding. Arrive the previous day if possible, allowing time to explore and reducing the risk of a delayed flight.
Jardim do Tabaco and Santa Apolónia terminals are close to the historic districts, but check your documents for the exact building. Santa Apolónia railway and Blue Line metro stations are nearby. With luggage, take a taxi or prebooked transfer to the correct entrance; do not navigate using only the port name.
For the day before sailing: Praça do Comércio → Rua Augusta → Rossio → Sé Cathedral → Alfama → Santa Luzia → Portas do Sol → waterfront. Expect steep lanes and steps. Allow a separate visit for the castle; Belém is a different excursion and is unwise immediately before boarding.
Planning estimate: 3–4 hours for this walking loop with breaks and exterior views; museum visits are extra. This is a suggested time budget, not an official duration. On 11 July follow your check-in appointment, rather than the 16:00 sailing time.
These are choices, not a checklist to complete in a single day. Interior visits, out-of-town excursions and the beach require additional time. Check current tickets, access and opening hours.
Pause for coffee and a pastel de nata, or a Portuguese fish lunch. Check menus and prices first in tourist districts; avoid a long lunch immediately before check-in.
Lisbon has slippery paving and strong July sun. Bring comfortable shoes and water. Trams can be crowded; do not rely on them as your only return option with luggage.
Before going ashore save the exact terminal, ship contact number and all-aboard time. Allow for traffic, queues and document checks. Suggested durations are personal planning estimates, not confirmed timetables.

Portimão combines fishing heritage beside the Arade with the sandy beaches of the Algarve. The most practical choice is the town waterfront and Praia da Rocha, rather than several distant sights. This call is on Monday 12 July.
Check the berth and permitted pedestrian exit. Use an official shuttle if provided, or a taxi to the centre or Praia da Rocha; do not assume a free transfer exists. Walking between the beach and town is more than a short stroll across the port.
Suggested route: Arade waterfront → museum district outside → old centre → lunch → taxi to Santa Catarina Fort → promenade above Praia da Rocha → return to the ship. For a beach-only day, save the terminal address and arrange return transport first.
Allow roughly 2 hours for the centre and 1–2 hours for the beach, excluding transport and breaks. This is a suggested day plan. A 07:00–18:00 port call does not provide that entire interval ashore: disembarkation and all-aboard deadlines are separate.
These are choices, not a checklist to complete in a single day. Interior visits, out-of-town excursions and the beach require additional time. Check current tickets, access and opening hours.
Look for fresh fish or sardines in town; check prices and what the portion includes. Bring water, sunscreen and footwear for hot sand at the beach.
The currently published schedule lists Portimão Museum as closed on Mondays. Do not assume an interior visit on 12 July 2027; recheck near departure. Benagil boat trips are a separate activity dependent on sea conditions and transport, not a guaranteed part of the day.
Before going ashore save the exact terminal, ship contact number and all-aboard time. Allow for traffic, queues and document checks. Suggested durations are personal planning estimates, not confirmed timetables.

The ship calls at Cádiz. Seville is a possible inland Andalusian excursion, not the city beside the terminal. For a relaxed independent day, Cádiz offers an old town, cathedral, markets and ocean views without a long intercity transfer.
The cruise area adjoins the historic city; distances depend on the berth and authorised exit. Follow signs and look for the terminal Hospitality Desk for a current map. The centre suits walking. For Seville, arrange transport in advance with a realistic return margin.
Suggested loop: Plaza de San Juan de Dios → El Pópulo → cathedral → Campo del Sur → La Caleta → Genovés Park → Alameda Apodaca → port. Add the market or Torre Tavira according to your interests. Do not combine Seville with this city walk.
Budget roughly 4–5 hours for the main loop with lunch and breaks, excluding all paid interiors. This is a planning estimate. The supplied itinerary shows 07:00–19:00 on 13 July. Choose in advance one main attraction to visit inside.
These are choices, not a checklist to complete in a single day. Interior visits, out-of-town excursions and the beach require additional time. Check current tickets, access and opening hours.
Try local fried fish or shrimp fritters if suitable for your diet. The market can be busy; protect your phone and documents and avoid leaving lunch until just before your return.
Seville requires a separate full-day plan. Do not assume the ship will wait for an independent excursion. Check actual schedules, terminal and the operator’s conditions; include traffic contingency rather than relying solely on navigation estimates.
Before going ashore save the exact terminal, ship contact number and all-aboard time. Allow for traffic, queues and document checks. Suggested durations are personal planning estimates, not confirmed timetables.

Motril is the Costa Tropical port and a gateway for Granada excursions. An independent local day offers sugar heritage, churches and views from the sanctuary. Granada and the Alhambra are a separate objective requiring advance tickets, not a spontaneous addition.
The port and historic centre are separate; take a taxi or confirmed shuttle. Check the exit and return pickup point. No unconfirmed bus number, fare or guaranteed frequency is given here. Walking within the centre is more convenient than a long approach along port roads.
Suggestion: transfer to the centre → Plaza de España and Encarnación Church → Sugar Museum if open → Parque de los Pueblos de América → Virgen de la Cabeza Sanctuary → lunch → return. A beach afternoon is an alternative requiring separate transport, not a compulsory part of the loop.
Budget approximately 3–4 hours for the town route with one museum, plus transport and lunch. This is a suggested time allowance. The supplied schedule shows 07:00–19:00 on 14 July. For the Alhambra, make a separate plan with a timed ticket and reliable return transport.
These are choices, not a checklist to complete in a single day. Interior visits, out-of-town excursions and the beach require additional time. Check current tickets, access and opening hours.
Local seafood, sardine skewers and traditional sweets are food options. Check portions and prices locally. Sampling the cuisine can be part of the route without travelling far to a restaurant.
Plan shade and breaks in July; the climb to the sanctuary can be demanding. Check small museums’ opening hours. Do not rely on advertised minimum driving times to Granada: they exclude waiting, parking and access to the Alhambra.
Before going ashore save the exact terminal, ship contact number and all-aboard time. Allow for traffic, queues and document checks. Suggested durations are personal planning estimates, not confirmed timetables.

This is the shortest call: 15 July, 07:00–13:00 in the supplied schedule. Choose one main focus: a town walk or a prearranged Rock visit. Do not combine every attraction or plan to cross the border into Spain.
Use the signed pedestrian exit, taxi or confirmed transfer from the terminal. For Upper Rock choose a licensed tour or verified official transport; not every vehicle can enter the reserve. Save the exact terminal return point.
Relaxed option: terminal → Casemates Square → Main Street → St Mary the Crowned Cathedral → Alameda Gardens if time permits → return. Rock option: prearranged tour with St Michael’s Cave and viewpoints, followed by a direct return. Confirm the finishing time, not just departure.
Suggested town-walk budget: 2–3 hours plus terminal transfers. Reserve a Rock tour only after confirming it fits the ship’s all-aboard deadline. A 13:00 departure does not mean you may arrive at the terminal at 13:00.
These are choices, not a checklist to complete in a single day. Interior visits, out-of-town excursions and the beach require additional time. Check current tickets, access and opening hours.
Choose coffee or a light meal in the centre without a long wait. Check currency and exchange terms if paying in euros. Do not leave shopping and the return journey until the end of the call.
At the 17 October 2026 check, the official site reports cable-car refurbishment with reopening expected in 2027. Operation on 15 July is not confirmed: recheck near sailing and keep an alternative plan. Do not feed the macaques; secure food and glasses.
Before going ashore save the exact terminal, ship contact number and all-aboard time. Allow for traffic, queues and document checks. Suggested durations are personal planning estimates, not confirmed timetables.

Daytime Ibiza offers fortified Dalt Vila, harbour streets, museums and beaches. The 16 July call is 12:30–22:00, allowing an afternoon walk and early dinner, but not an unrestricted night on the island.
The berth matters: Botafoc lies across the harbour bay from the old town. Check taxis, confirmed shuttles or an operating harbour boat. No specific service or fare is promised. Before walking, check the actual route from your terminal exit.
Suggestion: La Marina harbour district → Portal de ses Taules → Plaça de Vila → bastions and cathedral square → descend through the old lanes → waterfront break → return. For a beach day, choose Talamanca instead of some museums, rather than adding it to everything.
Planning estimate: 3–4 hours for Dalt Vila and the harbour quarter with breaks, excluding transfers. Add a separate allowance for a museum or beach. Arrange your return around the ship’s all-aboard time, not restaurant closing or the 22:00 departure.
These are choices, not a checklist to complete in a single day. Interior visits, out-of-town excursions and the beach require additional time. Check current tickets, access and opening hours.
Choose an early fish or Balearic dinner near the harbour. Check prices and service time first. Nightclubs are not a practical objective for this schedule; the old town’s evening atmosphere is an attraction in itself.
Dalt Vila is steep and cobbled; wear grippy shoes and carry water. With limited mobility, remain in the flatter harbour area or arrange suitable transport. Do not assume evening boats or the last shuttle follow daytime schedules.
Before going ashore save the exact terminal, ship contact number and all-aboard time. Allow for traffic, queues and document checks. Suggested durations are personal planning estimates, not confirmed timetables.

Plan your transfer based on the exact cruise terminal or railway station. Check official public transport information and allow time for walking and queues.
Choose a compact route through the historic centre, starting with the main square and nearby landmarks. Reserve tickets in advance for popular museums.
Use additional time for museums, beaches and attractions outside the centre. Keep the return journey realistic.
Check ship departure times, transport schedules, prices and opening hours shortly before travelling. Return to the terminal with ample time to spare.
Departure on 17 July is 18:00, but all-aboard is earlier. Confirm return transport before lunch and allow for busy waterfront traffic.
